DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that you can subscribe to this blog? There is a little sign at the top that looks like an orange stereo speaker. A small orange square. You can click on that. Everytime I add something new it will send you an email as often as you would like. You can subscribe, weekly, monthly, etc. Your choice. You can also find this feature on other websites. Mostly chain stores, like Walmart and so on. Pretty cool feature, right? It is called a "feed". I do not have one on my website yet. I have not figured out how to embed it. Something new for me to learn. But you can just use this link:

Antique Cedar Chest

I had a customer who had this great cedar chest that was passed down through the family. I really liked the ornate legs. They wanted to repurpose and use this as a coffee table. I like the way it came out. I think it is great to repurpose what you already have.

Handpainted picnic basket

Did this great picnic basket. It is in good shape and I think it would work great for storage and other things. Like towels, magazines, yarn, etc.

handpainted sign

I did this sign for a friend. She wanted a realistic dog. Since I do not do portraits this was a stretch for me. I was glad to try something new.

Pink handpainted desk french provincial

Did this gorgeous desk for a lucky girl. She picked all the colors and fabric herself. Laura Ashley fabric. Loved the way it came out. Love the soft pastels.

Painted vintage chest/storage trunk

This great piece is an antique and was made to be put at the foot of a bed. A regular bed is 27" tall and this is 26" tall. Great for storing lots of stuff and also good to use as a bench at the foot of a bed.

Handpainted shabby chic china cabinet

Did this great china cabinet. It took alot of work and much TLC but we got it done. It needed new glass and a serious face lift. I did not put alot of artwork on it because I felt the details in the cabinet itself were enough. I love it.

Happy Mothers Day

I finally am online at the business. After weeks of trading computer towers and working out bugs and calling verizon and comcast, we are finally online at work.

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mom's out there. It is one of the most important jobs in the world. Being a Mom has made my life better and turned me into someone I never thought I would be. (In a good way) It is amazing how children change you and how hard you have to work at things and how tough it is to always set a good example. But it is all worth it. I can't imagine not being a Mom.

Green pedestal tables

Did this terrific pair of tables an olive green and added a black glaze. I love the pedestal base.

Handpainted Mothers Day Gifts

Haven't posted in weeks. We have a "new" (actually used---our version of new) computer tower and we are still working the bugs out. We are trying to switch things over which has pretty much gone smoothly, just very slowly. Hopefully, we will put our old one at the store and I will finally have internet access at the store. It has been 2 years there without a computer. I know sometimes not having technology around makes things better. I paint all day. But, unfortunately, I need to work on my website and so on and then I have to do all that work when I get home. I spend so much time on the computer at home that I need to be doing that at work.

Well getting ready for Mothers Day already. We have opted out of our usual April and May shows due to rising fees at the shows. We will be doing a show at the end of May but that is it. Don't understand why fees are going up when sales are going down. I know the schools are probably trying to make up the loss somehow but charging the crafters more does not make sense to me. If anything, they should not charge the public admission and then they would get more people, sell more food, have higher 50/50s etc. I have only done 2 shows so far this season when I normally do 10 to 15.
