We recently did this wardrobe, armoire for the store. It is painted off white with creamy accents and slightly distressed. We kept it's original hardware and slightly distressed it. There is a matching bed. I recently learned from researching and talking to antique dealer friends of mine, that wardrobe and armoire mean the same thing. They used to use these closets for armor (shields, swords) long ago in France. It then changed into something for clothing. But, when there are two doors that open--It is an armoire or wardrobe.
