Handpainted Antique Chair
We have a customer who has some pieces she has bought from sales and also has inherited over time. She wanted to use this great old chair in her bathroom. It just needed a little tightening and a new coat of paint to breath some life into it.
This chair is not available for sale, it was a private job. To see what we do have available, please visit our website:
Handpainted French Provincial Dresser
French provincial is my favortie. We had this great quality old dresser and it was solid wood. A customer was having twin girls. This piece fit perfectly for her and we did it so that it would still be something that could grow with her twins and they would like as they got older. This is not available in the store. Please link to the store to see what french provincial pieces we do have.

hand painted vintage desk
I had this older traditional desk and a customer asked me for a desk that could be painted white. They loved the size of this one. We changed out the knobs to glass and added a french provincial chair with vintage toille and painted flowers to match the fabric on the desk. It was quite a transformation and she picked some beautiful colors. This was a private job and it is not in the store. We do currently have a desk for sale in the store. Furniture with a Past
With a little touch-up, even older furniture can add charm to your baby’s nursery.
Jeff and Cookie Ventura bring new life to vintage and antique pieces as owners of Hand Painted Furniture, Lyndhurst (handpaintedbycookie.com). While they sell a variety of furniture in the store, customers also can bring in their own pieces to be decorated.
"We get a lot of rocking chairs and toy boxes that were used when customers were young, and now they want to have them fixed up for a new child," said Cookie. "One customer brought in an old china cabinet. The shelves were taken out and a rod was put in to make it a baby closet. Once I’m done decorating it, the customer is going to fill it with baby clothes and present it at the shower."
Cookie purchases furniture at auctions and estate sales, and if a customer is looking for a particular item she will try to find it. She sells only old American-made, solid-wood furniture and works with non-toxic materials.
"We don’t like a lot of chemicals around," Cookie said. "When we take a piece apart, we reuse all the pieces that we can. We don’t refinish — we paint our pieces and add artwork to give each piece that original feel and quality of a one-of-a-kind item."
She explained, "[Our customers] can save money by bringing in their own antique furniture, having it decorated and then keeping it for years to come."

Hand painted vintage bedroom
This is a great quality, great looking set. A young couple purchased this and we needed to make if from teen girl to adult. She picked out a pretty "Ralph Lauren" color that was classic not trendy and the set really came out pretty. Timeless. Perfect for an adult couple.
We do not have this set in the store, it was a custom job. To see what we do have in the store please visit the website.
We love French Provinvial!!
Hand painted antique vanity
A customer came in who saw this vanity at a sale and knew it was a gem. She grabbed it up and then came by me to see if I could paint it for her. She took her time and picked out the colors (had her own material), the flowers, the knobs and I love the way it came out. She had that great bold material but yet when it is mixed with the flowers and glass knobs it looks very classic. This was a custom job and is not available in the store. We do have 2 vanities in the store right now. Please check our website. http://www.handpaintedbycookie.com
